Trumpeter Chet Baker was a significant presence in jazz during the 1950s and 1960s and today he remains one of the music's 'legends'. He was seen as an American 'idol' because of his looks and romantic recordings and during those two decades he played and recorded with other top American jazz musicians, but in the end, it was Europe that claimed him.
